Darleen Trujillo was born in Havana, Cuba and began her musical studies at a very early age. At the age of five, Darleen started her musical studies in piano at the Conservatory of Music “Guillermo Tomas” with Hortensia Upmann. Exiled to Venezuela in 1980, she continued her musical training with Professor Daniel Bernard at the “Emil Friedman” School of Music and under Mrs. Geomar Narvaez, at the Conservatory “Juan Jose Landaeta”. She took advanced piano courses with pianist Sadao Muraki. In Miami she studied at Florida International University with the renowned pianists Miguel Salvador and Kemal Gekic.

Darleen has been part of various music and piano studios throughout her life, and is excited to announce that she has now opened up her own.

Darleen married Andres Trujillo in 1988. They both perform concerts of classical repertoire as well as Cuban and Latin-American art songs and dances. They have recorded two Compacts Discs featuring Cuban art songs and “Contradanzas.” Mrs. and Mr. Trujillo previously taught music at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and are music ministers at different parishes throughout South Florida (St Agnes Catholic Church, “Ermita de la Caridad” National Shrine and St. Hugh Catholic Church).
